INVITATION OF INDUSTRIAL PARTNERS FOR COLLABRATION: INVENTIVE PROBLEM SOLVING WITH TEAMS OF TALENTS

NanoTRIZ Industry Collaboration Calls

NanoTRIZ Innovation Institute (Australia) invites industrial partners to collaborate on well-defined technical challenges and to support the development of high-potential research talent. We work with partners to transform real R&D bottlenecks into structured, research-grade exploration projects, delivered through expert mentorship and carefully matched Research Fellows.

WE WELCOME ENGAGEMENT THROUGH THE COLLABORATION PATHWAYS BELOW:

1) Open Call: Industry Challenge Briefs (Problem Statements)
For companies facing a clear technical bottleneck but lacking time to explore the full solution space.
Partner submits: a 1–2 page Challenge Brief (scope, constraints, success metrics, IP/publication preference).
NanoTRIZ delivers: literature and prior-art scan, contradiction map, solution pathways, prototype concepts, test plan, and risk register.

2) Call for Sponsored Fellowships (Talent Support + Targeted R&D Exploration)
For partners who want a pipeline of trained talent plus structured exploration of a specific challenge.
Partner sponsors: 1–N fellows (or a cohort) to work on the partner’s challenge under NanoTRIZ mentorship.
Output: research-grade exploration and validated technical options (this is not “outsourced R&D,” but a mentored research workflow producing rigorous, documented outcomes).

3) Call for Rapid R&D Scoping Sprints (4–8 weeks)
For time-sensitive decisions requiring fast, evidence-based direction.
Deliverables: what is known vs. unknown, key experiments, minimum viable prototype plan, cost/time estimate ranges (as ranges), and decision gates for go/no-go roadmap choices.

4) Call for Joint IP Development and Commercial Pathways
For partners ready to fund deeper work with clear IP handling from day one.
Standard IP pathways (customizable):

  • Partner-owned IP (fully funded partner project)

  • Shared IP (co-development)

  • Open publication (pre-competitive research)

Confidentiality, governance, milestones, and publication rules are defined upfront.

5) Call for Testbeds, Data, Samples, and In-Kind Contributions
For partners who cannot sponsor cash immediately but can enable real progress.
Examples: datasets, materials samples, access to a pilot line, instrument time, specialist software licenses, benchmarking measurements, or domain-specific evaluation protocols.

6) Call for Secondments and Co-Mentorship (Industry Experts as Adjunct Mentors)
For partners who want better outcomes by embedding an R&D engineer or specialist as a co-mentor.
Benefits: sharper problem definition, realistic constraints, faster iteration cycles, and improved talent identification.

7) Call for an Industry Advisory Circle
For partners who want to shape annual challenge themes and talent outcomes.
Commitment: quarterly participation.
Value: influence over priority themes and early access to emerging research directions and talent cohorts.

HOW TO SUBMIT A CHALLENGE BRIEF (TEMPLATE)

Please include the following in a 1–2 page document:

  • Problem statement: what fails today and the measurable impact

  • Constraints: materials, cost ceiling, regulatory/safety, timeline, manufacturing limits

  • Success metrics: what “works” means and how it will be evaluated

  • Known attempts / prior solutions: internal notes welcome

  • Available resources: data, samples, facilities, test access

  • Preferred output: roadmap, prototype concept, experimental plan, patentable direction, hiring pipeline

  • IP/publication preference: partner-owned / shared / open

  • Budget range (optional) and decision deadline
