Terms of Use, Copyright & Privacy — Introduction
Welcome to NanoTRIZ Innovation Institute. By accessing www.nanotriz.com (the “Site”), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy (together, the “Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or our services.
We may update the Terms from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted on this page and, where feasible, notified to registered users. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Status & Accreditation
NanoTRIZ Innovation Institute is an independent research and education initiative operated by Professor Alexander A. Solovev (ABN 60 349 600 938), based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. We are not a Registered Training Organization (RTO) and not a government-accredited higher-education provider. We do not issue government-recognized degrees or qualifications. Our activities include mentorship, research collaboration, training, and AI-assisted innovation tools.
Independence and the use of “TRIZ”
The term “TRIZ” is referenced descriptively as a methodology (Theory of Inventive Problem Solving). NanoTRIZ is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with any TRIZ certification bodies, organizations, or trademark owners.
Responsible Use of AI in Research
NanoTRIZ is committed to ethical, transparent, and human-supervised use of AI. Our tools may assist with ideation, literature analysis, drafting, and workflow support, but AI is never used to fabricate data or mislead. Any authorship or acknowledgment requires meaningful intellectual contribution and compliance with recognized publication ethics (e.g., COPE/ICMJE principles).
Content & Intellectual Property Rights
Unless otherwise stated, all content on the NanoTRIZ Innovation Institute website (the “Site”)—including text, graphics, diagrams, tutorials, lectures, videos, software, and downloadable materials—is owned by NanoTRIZ and/or its contributors and licensors and is protected by Australian and international intellectual property laws.
License. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes only.
You must not:

copy, modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works from Site materials;

reproduce, distribute, publicly display, or commercially exploit content without our prior written permission;

Trademarks. NanoTRIZ is a registered trademark in Australia. The term “TRIZ” is used descriptively to refer to a methodology (Theory of Inventive Problem Solving) and does not imply affiliation, endorsement, or partnership with any TRIZ-branded organization or trademark owner.
Third-party and open-source components. Some materials or code snippets may be subject to third-party or open-source licenses. Where provided, those licenses govern your use of those components in addition to these Terms.
User contributions. If you submit or share content through our programs or tools, you represent that you have the right to do so and grant NanoTRIZ a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host and display that content for the purpose of operating the Site and relevant programs. You remain responsible for obtaining any required permissions from third parties.
Permissions & takedown. For permission requests, licensing, or to report an alleged infringement, contact founder@nanotriz.com. We may remove or restrict content in response to credible notices.
Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability
The Site and its content are provided for educational and informational purposes “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that information will be complete or current.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, NanoTRIZ, its contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business interruption arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Site or reliance on its content.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any non-excludable rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable laws. No advice or information obtained through the Site creates any warranty not expressly stated in these Terms.
User Responsibilities
By using the Site, you agree to:

Use the Site responsibly. Do not engage in illegal, abusive, harassing, fraudulent, or harmful activity.

Protect access. Keep account credentials confidential; notify us promptly of any suspected breach.

Do not interfere. Do not attempt to disrupt, damage, reverse-engineer, probe, or bypass any security or access controls; do not deploy malware, automated scraping, or excessive load on our systems.

Prohibited submissions. Any content you submit (e.g., manuscripts, project files, comments) must not be defamatory, obscene, pornographic, hateful, discriminatory, infringing, or otherwise unlawful.
Violations may lead to content removal, suspension, or other appropriate action. Nothing here limits remedies available at law.
Collaboration & User Contributions
We encourage collaborative research and learning. When you submit or co-create content through NanoTRIZ programs or tools:

Rights & permissions. You represent that you have the rights to share what you submit and that it does not infringe others’ rights.

License to host. You grant NanoTRIZ a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, and display your submitted content as needed to operate the Site and related programs. You retain your ownership.

Attribution & ethics. Acknowledge co-authors and contributors accurately (we recommend using the CRediT taxonomy). Follow recognized publication-ethics standards (e.g., COPE/ICMJE).

AI assistance. AI may assist ideation/analysis/drafting, but must not replace genuine intellectual contribution. Do not use AI to fabricate data or mislead.

No misrepresentation. Do not claim endorsement by NanoTRIZ, or use our name/logo to imply sponsorship, without written permission.

Dispute Resolution in Collaborations
If a disagreement arises regarding shared content, contributions, or authorship:

Informal resolution first. Parties should attempt good-faith discussion and a written agreement (e.g., contribution statement using CRediT).

Platform moderation. NanoTRIZ does not arbitrate authorship disputes, but may temporarily restrict or remove disputed material to protect all parties while you resolve the issue.

External resolution. If unresolved, parties should seek independent mediation/arbitration or pursue remedies available at law (see “Governing Law & Disputes”).
NanoTRIZ is not liable for authorship order, publication outcomes, or downstream disputes arising from collaborations initiated via the Site.
Confidentiality & Access to Private Areas
Some users may receive access to private workspaces, drafts, unpublished tools, or internal discussions. You agree to:

Maintain confidentiality of non-public materials.

Avoid disclosure of pre-publication content, data, or research directions outside authorized groups.

Seek written permission before presenting internal content publicly (e.g., talks, preprints, manuscripts).
Confidentiality obligations survive termination of access. Breaches may result in removal from programs and other remedies if IP or confidential information is compromised.
Third-Party Resources & External Content
The Site may link to or embed third-party websites, platforms, tools, or content. These links are provided for convenience only and do not constitute endorsement, partnership, or verification. NanoTRIZ is not responsible for the availability, policies, practices, or intellectual-property claims of third-party services.
Your responsibility: review and accept the terms and privacy policies of any external services you access via the Site before using them.
TRIZ Reference — Independence Statement
NanoTRIZ Innovation Institute is a fully independent research and mentorship initiative founded by Professor Alexander A. Solovev. The term “TRIZ” is used descriptively to refer to the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving methodology. NanoTRIZ is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with any TRIZ-branded organizations or trademark owners. “NanoTRIZ” is a distinct educational and scientific platform developed by Professor Solovev and collaborators.
Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. The courts of Queensland have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from your use of the Site, content, or services.
Dispute process. Parties will first attempt good-faith negotiation for 30 days. By mutual written agreement, a dispute may be referred to arbitration under the rules of the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (ACICA), seated in Brisbane, conducted in English. Each party bears its own legal costs unless determined otherwise by the tribunal.
Users outside Australia are responsible for complying with their local laws. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) does not apply.
Changes to Terms
NanoTRIZ Innovation Institute may amend these Terms and the associated Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect upon posting. Material changes (e.g., affecting user rights or data practices) will be:

clearly highlighted on this page and/or the Terms page; and

where feasible, notified via email to registered users.
Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, discontinue using the Site and services.

When data is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete, de-identify, or securely archive it in line with our retention practices. Data Security
We apply administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information (e.g., access controls, encryption-in-transit where applicable, and restricted access). However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. By using the Site, you acknowledge and accept this residual risk.
Third-Party Services
We may link to or integrate third-party tools, platforms, or resources (e.g., hosting, email delivery, analytics). These services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Review those policies before use. NanoTRIZ is not responsible for third-party data handling practices.
International Data Transfers

Appointments & Titles Policy
Appointments & Titles at NanoTRIZ. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Honorary, Visiting, Research Affiliate, and Advisory roles at NanoTRIZ are non-salaried service appointments and do not create an employment, contractor, or agency relationship under Australian law. Any paid engagement (if applicable) is covered by a separate written agreement under NanoTRIZ Innovation Institute ABN 60 349 600 938.
Your Choices & Control
By using the Site, you consent to this Privacy Policy and our data practices. You may:
